The AF-S NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED is a standard 2.9x zoom lens with a highly practical wideangle to medium-telephoto focal range, offering maximum versatility to accommodate everything from tight portraits to expansive scenes. This lens is part of an exclusive Nikon high-performance zoom lens system featuring the high f/2.8 aperture and covering a focal range of 14 mm to 200 mm.

This fast telephoto zoom lens provides excellent performance and superior image quality demanded by professional and advanced amateur photographers. Main features: vibration reduction (VR II) equivalent to increases in shutter speed by four steps, shooting at distances as close as 1.4 m throughout the entire zoom range , a new optical design utilising seven ED glass elements, aperture diaphragm utilising an odd number of rounded blades (nine) for natural blur characteristics.

This latest addition to the NIKKOR lineup features a large maximum aperture of f/1.4, enabling it to be used for easy handheld shooting in dark settings, such as a dimly lit room. It also allows photographers to easily create beautiful large blur effects. The lens’ Silent Wave Motor (SWM) ensures quick, quiet autofocus. Autofocus shooting is made possible with SLR models that do not have a built-in motor, such as the D40 series and D60.
